Many people have heard of Jingle Bells, the famous Christmas song that is sung especially during the Christmas season around the world. Here are some things about the famous song you might not have known.

1. “Jingle Bells” was originally composed for the American Thanksgiving celebration.

2. The original tune for “Jingle Bells” is not exactly the same as the one the world is listening to now.

3. The composer of “Jingle Bells” was James Lord Pierpont, a member of the Unitarian Church who published the song in 1857.

4. The first recording of “Jingle Bells” was made on an Edison Cylinder by the Edison Male Quartette in 1898 as part of a Christmas medley entitled “Sleigh Ride Party”.

5. “Jingle Bells” was the first song broadcast from outer space in 1965 by astronauts aboard Gemini 6.
